Storyteller Session

✨ As part of implementing the Ministry of Culture and Arts’ program aimed at reviving storytelling heritage and presenting it in a modern way, while preserving the slogan Once Upon a Time, and in line with the 2026 cultural and intellectual program intended to encourage reading and listening habits among children and attract them to libraries by combining education and entertainment and linking them to educational games, the Main Public Reading Library of the Wilaya of Médéa organized, on Saturday morning, a storytelling session and educational cultural games.

✨ The storytelling session was led by the storyteller artist Hussein Al-Nadhir and the narrator artist Hafsa, while the artist Nabil Hilal presented the educational games segment.

✨ The session took the form of a traditional gathering, where children came together to listen to the grandmother’s tale, a role portrayed by narrator Hafsa in her traditional attire, with the brazier in her hands and her gentle voice that captured the children’s attention and made them interact with the folk story. The tale narrated the story of the greedy sultan who nearly lost his throne because of peaches, perfectly illustrating the proverb: “His belly cost him his throne.”
The floor was then given to Uncle Hussein, who told the children a story conveying how obedience to parents and following their advice can turn a poor person into a prince. Narrator Hafsa then returned to tell the fable of the two brothers and the magical mill.

✨ The second part of the activity consisted of interactive educational games, carefully selected by artist Nabil Hilal to suit both adults and children. These games were based on concentration, attention, and friendly competition between young and old, and the children enthusiastically engaged in an atmosphere of joy, competition, and fun.
