In the Footsteps of Bologhine

The Main Public Reading Library of Médéa hosted the cultural event “In the Footsteps of Bologhine… From Ashir to the Ancient Cities: Médéa, Miliana, and the City of Bani Mezghanna.”
The event was organized by the Local Tourism Office of the Municipality of Médéa, in coordination with various public institutions, heritage and cultural tourism associations, and university students, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

During the national study day, researchers, historians, and engineers presented a series of key interventions focusing on:
– Valuing the archaeological site of Ashir and highlighting its historical importance
– Showing the urban and architectural links between Ashir and the ancient cities: Médéa, Miliana, and Algiers
– Introducing sustainable cultural tourism routes as a mechanism to enhance heritage
– Presenting a comprehensive scientific vision to improve the site’s attractiveness and connect it to national tourist routes

The aim of this national meeting is to strengthen the historical heritage of the region and develop a sustainable vision to integrate the Ashir site within cultural tourism networks.
