Symposium on Digitization and Manuscripts in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Under the theme: Reviving Memory and Envisioning the Future

The Main Library continues its cultural and intellectual program, hosting on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 4–5, 2025, a national symposium that brings together heritage and technology.

This symposium crowns a series of events organized by the library that explored how modern technologies can serve heritage, including the previous seminar on “Digitization and Manuscripts in the Context of Artificial Intelligence.”

Through its five main themes, the symposium seeks to open new horizons for exploring, understanding, and documenting heritage, enriching humanity’s experience with its history and culture. It also aims to establish the intellectual and technical framework for digitizing manuscripts, covering definitions, importance, practical applications, regulatory frameworks, and the sensitivities linked to the circulation of digitized manuscripts—a vital topic in today’s technological era.

The symposium will also discuss national and international laws protecting the intellectual property rights of digitized manuscripts and ways to combat their illegal exploitation. It will further highlight the revolutionary role of artificial intelligence in decoding heritage texts and making them more accessible.

Participants:
The symposium will feature a distinguished group of researchers and specialists from several universities across the country, including Yahia Fares University (Médéa), Djelfa, Blida, Khemis Miliana, Ain Salah, and Adrar, presenting pioneering research in manuscripts and artificial intelligence.

Venue:
Conference Hall – Main Public Reading Library of Médéa Province

Open Invitation:
All researchers, cultural heritage enthusiasts, and university students are invited to attend this national symposium and contribute to enriching discussions that serve our authentic national heritage.
