As part of the celebration of World Arabic Language Day, “the Language of Ḍād,” and in an atmosphere filled with pride and appreciation for Arab identity, the Main Public Reading Library of Médéa Province hosted a distinguished celebratory event. The library was beautifully decorated to welcome our young participants after their exam period and with the start of the winter holiday. They presented a variety of performances that reflected their love for their mother tongue and their dedication to elevating its status.
The event opened with a moving recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, the best possible opening to the program. This was followed by the chant “Ya Marhaban,” performed by the children to warmly welcome the audience in a joyful festive atmosphere. Next came a remarkable recitation of the poem “The Arabic Language,” presented by the talented Roua, who beautifully described the elegance of the language of the Qur’an. Then came the turn of acting talents in an educational play entitled “The Queen of Languages,” in which the participants delivered an interactive performance that impressed the audience. Knowledge also had its place through the “Did You Know?” segment, which offered valuable and rich information about the history and status of the Arabic language. After that, the children delighted the audience with the chant “My Arabic Language,” followed by a joint poem wonderfully performed by Iman and Iman. The event concluded with the chant “My Language, In It Is My Eternity.” As always, the creative Lina Al-Arabi Belhour shone in presenting and hosting the program with her refined and distinctive style.
